Trying to find decent pics and so far some look almost midnight blue/black while others look steel dark gray. hmmm.

depending on the light its blue'ish, green'ish or dark grey.
If its hot and bright outside it looks nice cause thats when its a dark grey.
its the green hue that turns me off meteor. metalic charcoal minus the green hue would turn me into a fan of it.

In think that metero grey is a relly good looking color in real life, but i agree that i looks a little bit weird on some pics .

I like meteor gray for its chameleon-like properties. As stated, it can look green, turquoise, blue, charcoal gray, or almost black depending on lighting conditions. The little sparkles in the pearl effect add a nice touch out in the sun as well. Here are a few of the faces of meteor gray:

I was set on this color for my order until I saw this color in person at a dealership. I disliked it so much in person that I ordered mine (quartz grey) without even seeing it in person.

I suspect its more an issue with photography....over or underexpose your shots or use the wrong white balance...and colours look completely different.
Gray in general is though to nail for true likeness.
Having said that...dolphin gray didnt seem to take on so many hues.
i think dolphin grey and meteor grey look great...one of my favorite colors...and u usually dont see it too often. Looks great on the S5
