I know driving in the dynamic mode changes the shfit pattern, etc... and I was wondering if it is any harder on the transmission / engine to drive it in that mode on a daily basis insted of auto? I am talking about just normal in town and highway driving. What are the advnatages / disadvantages?

Won't harm the transmission any, just your gas mileage. This makes the transmission wait till much higher in the rev curve to shift is all really.

I drive in comfort most of the time. Dynamic just puts the car into a sport mode. The guy above me is right about the mpg. I would just leave it in comfort or auto if you're just driving around. If you're going to be haulin ass.. then you can drop dynamic. [drive]

I would assume it puts more strain on your engine, though. Reving high all the time can't be a good thing.
If you're reving high, but below the redline, is it bad in any way for the car? I'm always concerned when I'm pushing 5000 RPM.

driving it in dynamic mode and cruising, i feel like the car shifts to keep you around 3k rpm...vs. about 1.5-2k rpm in other modes. this gives the car a good "bite" when you step on it even at lower speeds
