I own a 2010 Audi S4 and am looking for mods. I know that MTM has the chip, but who wants to pay that much money.. I'm wondering if anybody knows about any mods that are out or going to come out soon. I'm looking for anything from intake to exhaust to a supercharger kit. If anybody has mods, please post pictures.

What I've done so far:
Interior LED's
Various VAG codes
15mm front and 20mm rear spacers
pyspeed LED license plate lights
Hoen Xenonmatch fog lights
German front plate
Now that the aesthetic stuff is the way I want it, all the performance things can fall in place as they arrive on the market.

APR, GIAC, etc., should be releasing their tunes soon and they will be significantly cheaper

I orederd my S4 last week and got the 19's. Will 15/20 spacers rub with 19s? and if not how low can you drop it???

I definitely want to do some VAG codes, possibly some spacers, and a front plate. Eventually I'm going to match up some new HID head lights with matching fogs.

I'm definitely going with GIAC. I just want to give my car a little more sound, it's way too silent.

I think 15&20 might be too much for the 19's. It might stick out beyond the fender, but can't be positive. I have these spacers on 18's and it works perfectlly.
the 19s are allready 1/2" wider and 4mm closer to the fender from offset. 5mm is all the spacer the 19s can handle without other issues like vibration from the 10mm ones.
try a set of 4 5mm spacers. (15s would be too much. 19x8.5 et43-15=et28..bad news)
the 5mm ones give you a 38et which is what some aftermarket rims are running for the b8s.
as for looks. your fronts should look very close to Jose, but your rears will be 5mm more tucked in. putting a10mm spacer on the back just won't be worth the look, vs. sticking with the 5

Are there similar VAG instructions to turn off the "Lights On" beeeeeeeeeeeep when you open the driver's door? It drives me nuts. Headlights are always set to auto, so I don't need a loud beep every time I open the door .
I'll definitely kill the seat belt chime too. What a pain. Baby falls asleep in the seat... her head slumps down... my wife un-buckles her seatbelt to lean back back and adjust her head, and DING DING DING, baby's awake. I want all dings, beeps, and chimes, banished from my car!

Sorry to hear that. Btw i already tried vagcom on my s4, however I do not see the option to turn off the seat belt chime. It is different than my 09 a4.

I would agree. Other people say to do 5mm. I'm going with 5mm on my car with the stock wheels.

A college kid with a B8 S4 would almost be as annoying as the two M5's parked in front of the off campus housing here at Hopkins.
The S4 is my dad's, the A4 Avant is mine, although I would consider myself the 'chief engineer' for both. They're safely are at home in Philly, because you would have to be an idiot to park either one on Baltimore streets.
I still don't know if I want my car down here, if anything I'll keep it in a hotel garage and use it only to drive home. I have been thinking about a discrete looking B5 S4 with massive power...

Ha, I wish I could have a M5. I got lucky and my lease was up the same time the S4 was coming out, plus I saved a lot of money by going to PSU vs Drexel, so I got it. I used to park my A4 in downtown Philly when I lived there for a few years.. Never again.
I mean it's up to you. You shouldn't take it there if it's just going to sit in a garage for the whole time and collect dust while you pay for parking. A B5 S4 with massive power would be great. I love that model, which is why I went with this V6. I wanted a b5 for the longest time. I would say if you really are into the car, go for it.

I'd contact H&R to make sure. Truthfully the S4 is lower than the A4, and it probably would work.. but not worth the pain to find out the hard way.
drop for the oe springs are the same 1.2" or 30mm, wheels are the same 19x8.5 43et, spacers are the same 5mm 66.6 bore.
the s4 is not dropped more than the a4 s-line, and that a4 is an s-line.

I stand corrected.. I didn't notice it was an s-line, just thought it was the prestige model since the wheels (no s-line badges but I noticed the bumpers). I definitely want to lower my car.. the only thing is I rather get coil overs, but I have ADS.. so I don't want to have that upgrade go down the drain.

You must press the button to start and stop the lap time or is it gps based ( that would be cool ) :)

It's in the Wiki - scroll to the very bottom and there is an explaination of how it works with a picture. The B8 S4 also adds an Oil Temp to the Lap Timer enable as well which is nice.

It's a European thing, but when you are above around 40mph I think, and you hit brake hard enough to engage ABS, your brake lights strobe to let those coming up behind you fast know you are REALLY braking hard - it's a safety thing.

I live in Baltimore city and trust me my car stands out, but you just have to know how and where to park. It's a risk you take for living in the city but well worth it. Philly is no better in the parking situation however.

Anybody have plans for a grill? I was thinking about having my grill done in black such as the black optics package, but also have noticed some new grills on the market such as Lusch. I like the idea of the carbon fiber grill, but the small mesh makes me wonder. Anybody know of any grills that are available?

AE Perf can get you the Optics grill for $350 + core charge, the swap out doesn't sound too hard if you have the tools and are not scared to pull your own bumper.

Yea I actually talked to AE recently and I was planning on the purchase, but I'm going to give myself some time to think and put away some money so I can do multiple things rather than just a grill. I also want to see if any nice grills come out soon or if there is anything I like more than AE's.

5mm Spacers with factory 5-tri spoke 19" wheels - don't do it.
Mine looks great but the car vibrates horribly now. The stock 19" wheels have a tapered center hub, and adding that 5mm spacer makes it impossible to easily mount the wheel centered on the hub. If you remove the center cap and play with it for a while, you can probably get it 95% centered by eye within about 10-15 minutes per corner, but it still won't be completely vibration-free. [headbang]
The spacers look great on the car, but with these particular wheels, I think it's just a mistake. I'm really disappointed but I can't recommend this upgrade.

There are spaces that replicate the tapered hub. I haven't been able to find them for this hub size yet though.

Yea, that was my concern with spacers. I'm most likely not going to do them unless H&R puts out the ones that mount perfectly with the OEM rims. I plan on getting 19s or 20s for spring anyway, so the 19s will become my winter wheels.

Hello guys!
Guess, my question ain't worth posting a new thread, but I'd like to hear your opinions.
I'm about to make a decision to buy MTM Cantronic, all right, "piggy-back" block, which deliver 430 hp of power and 515 n.m. of torque. Those figures IMHO don't look like BS since both competitive ABT and Sportec show similar figures for their "chips". It's pretty expensive - costs about 3000 euros here in Russia.
But gains are amasing and almost unprecedented for a chip-tuning. Heard from our tuning fanatics that in S4 B8 Audi uses Motronic - an ECU that no one to this moment could possibly "crack". That's why ABT, Sportec and MTM use piggy-backs, not ECU reflashes.
To my mind, piggy-back as "the lowest form of chip-tuniing", as I've read here, has both advantages and disadvantages.
Disadvantages: can't figure out any.
Advantages:
1) piggy-back uses stock program as the base and corrects fuel, boost and ignition timing mappings in order to make more power and torque. Reliability of the stock ECU is the strong one and should not be doubted.
2) piggy-back cannot be found during visits to the dealership for service. At least, removed during those.
3) piggy-back can easily be removed from the car and sold/reprogrammed and used with the future Audi model. Car can easily be transformed into the stock form.
What can you say, guys? Is this a reasonable way to make my car faster without lacking reliability?
It is the best mod available right now. Price should be the only thing stopping you. If you are ok with the $$, it is a deffinite yes. I was quoted 4000 canadian for it, and that is without the speed limiter removal...so for me....too much for now. I had a piggyback on my old MR2 turbo, and it worked great. The negative to a piggyback is cost..you have to put a complete kit together vs. a flash...no parts involved. As for the tune, It is not rocket science. They all raise boost at specific rpms, and throttle loads, change ignition timing to prevent detonation, and ensure fuel is metered. They all reach 430hp right now on pump gas. Meaning they all have bumped into the same limiting factor....either they reached peak boost, ran out of injector rooom for increased fuel output, or ran into a limitation on detonation due to the engines compression ratio. Getting more out of the car will take whatever is limiting the output to be changed. mtm, apr, abt, sportec, would all have almost exact curves on the same dyno...I'd bet. Teams race with both types of tune and both win.
