hello, i have a 2000 a6 with a bose symphony

my battery died early when i was working on my car, i was listening to the radio when it died. i got a jump and now my radio wont turn on. i checked the fuses. and there fine.

i know theres a trick to complete reset of alot of electronics in your car by taking the negetive wire off your battery while its running or something. if anyone knows that trick id like to try it.

thanks if you can help

edit: the back lights on the radio do not turn on with the rest of the electronic back lighting.

When your battery dies all the cars electronics lose their settings (except items with memory such as the ECU). Disconnecting the negative battery wire has the same effect, all electronics lose their power.

If the symphony head unit does not power on, illuminate, or anything it is most likely a fuse. Either the radio fuse on the fuse block or sometimes there is a fuse on the rear of the headunit itself. If not then a connection is loose or the unit is toast.
