Yeah...today is a very miserable day. I got an email update from my dealer two days ago saying that my S4 is at the port. But today, I had to cancel the order due to my work. My company just laid off another 6 people last week and announced that we will have work furlough in Nov and Dec. I lost all expectation in the company that I don't know when it will fold. Because of this, I decided to cancel the S4 order so I won't have another car payment if my company does fold. [headbang] Hopefully, in couple years I can re-order my S4 again. For those of you who have the S4, enjoy your car!!!

Its unfortunate but it sounds like you made the smart financial move. That seems to be an uncommon theme these days. The economy will turn around at some point and you will be rollin' in an S4 soon enough. Our company went through a round of layoffs this week as well, luckily I made it through (the group I work in is understaffed and is over 100% billable to clients so unless shit really hits the fan I should be ok).

Anyways. its a tough issue but sounds like you made the best decision and I respect you for that. Good luck, things will turn around and be sure to post pics when you get the S4.

Well, when I placed the order, the saleswoman told me that the deposit is refundable. So I should get all of them back.

Oh, BTW, if anyone in SoCal looking to purchase a white S4, the car should be at the dealership in a week. Talk to Mario at Penske Audi, he's a great guy to work with.

Here is the S4 I configured:
- Ibis White
- Magma red/black interior
- Prestige
- 6MT
- Sport Diff
- Power sunshade
- Carbon inlays

Nice config. I love Ibis. They should have no trouble moving that. I've got an Imola yellow 6MT coming in that my area rep gave us. I can't wait to see that thing. Should be interesting. We've only had one yellow car here in 3 years. It was custom order A6.

A6 in Imola yellow? Now that is brave.

I'm so sorry to hear this bad news. My suggestion would be to start looking for a new job ASAP if you haven't already. Looking for a job while you still have one keeps a little bit of the power on your side. If they know you're out of work and looking for a job, the company holds all the chips.

I'm somewhat a shame to say that I have changed my mind.......yet again. I called to cancel the order last Friday. Then I went to the dealer to process the refund on Saturday, but my salesman, Mario, had just step out for lunch. So we waited in the waiting area. While waiting, one salesman asked us what we were looking for, I told him that I had a white S4 on order and wanted to cancel the order. He told me that the car was actually there at the back. He took both my wife and I back to see the car. It looked so beautiful, and it was then that sparked another lengthy conversation with the wife regarding the car. And at the end, we took delivery of the car that afternoon.

congrats on the car? Where you get it from? Is Mario a tall skinny guy with an italian accent worked at keyes for many years. Guy chatted with my dad very briefly in 2005 and saw me roll in and pick him up i didnt get out the car. My dad hasnt been back since, he saw me in 2008 at a bagel shop and asked me how my dads trucks were and he even remembered my dads weird name. that really impressed me.

play it smart man. I don't know you or your financial situation but we all know PLENTY of people in this country (USA) that are nothing but consumers and could care less if they have too many bills to keep their heads above water.

If you can rock the S4, DO IT!!!! If you think it may be better to cut your loses before you have to have a tow truck come pick it up, do that.

Any word on your company? Any hope?

Best wishes,

Looking at your signature, some valuable feedback on s4 vs 335 should be usefull, once the breakin is done.

Best wishes,

I had a meeting with my boss and the CEO of the company. The meeting was about restructuring of the company, and I felt much more comfortable about the company after the meeting. My position is pretty much secured because I'm the only engineer left in the company (actually, it's been like this for the past few years).

BTW, thanks for the wishes!

I'll try. I'm hoping to run both cars at Calif. Speedway next month for comparison. If the break-in is done by then, I'll see if my wife can drive the S4 out to the track for me.
