Dealer got in an Ice Silver S-Tronic with B&O, black leather, carbon fiber trim, and nav. Wasn’t expected which may explain why they got a car without sport diff or ADS from - Audi sent it to the dealer for moving some A8s. Since I have a long wait (end of November) I went down today and took it out for a drive with my dealer – short drive but enough to form some impressions.

Impressions: Exterior – more compact, muscular appearing in person (no RS4 but nice), the lower sills are much more apparent than in pics, car sits plenty low for the roads I travel and I’m sure to see a lot of snow with it although plan to drive my Tacoma when the roads are extremely bad, 18’s are nice glad I chose them. Trunk opens all the way up when you click it – nice when you have your hands full. Interior: Seats are terrific – firm but comfortable with good side bolster and I think most people should have no problem finding a comfortable driving position, they sit low in the car if that makes sense which I like, steering wheel is thick and feels good, carbon trim looks really nice. Sat in the back just to check it out – very comfortable seats and should be plenty of space for two car seats without making the front passengers have to compromise leg room which is different from the B7 platform. Nav screen is fantastic for those who ordered it you will be pleased / buttons, dials and other controls have a good solid feel – typical Audi. Driving: foot on brake and insert “key” – give it a little extra nudge and the engine fires up. Steering is light but appropriate, engine is quiet at idle and partial throttle – hit the road and this thing turns into an absolute beast! I was blown away by the pace and as others have stated the 7 speed is brilliant (can see why others have ordered – I just prefer manuals myself). I couldn’t help myself – would slow down and then back to WOT b/c it is so much fun. Steering weight is spot on at speed (into the 90s before I knew it on the interstate) and the brakes are terrific – pedal feel is great and bring the car down from speed in a very linear fashion. Drives like a much smaller car – more low end grunt than the M3 sedan I drove but can't touch the top end of that 4.0 V8 (not many cars can) Audi got it right – just like the reviews and others have been saying….you just can’t beat finding it out for yourself.

Cheers,
Brad

pretty quiet in the cabin - with the radio on it was difficult to hear - which is why i turned it off immediately. nice sound at full throttle, no drone, but as others have said could be a bit more aggressive. Audi probably wanted to capture the broadest range of buyers and figured those who prefer the more aggressive exhausts would tap into the aftermarket

Cheers
