Thanks - I've always liked Daytona since I saw it on the RS4. Car should arrive end of November which feels like a long ways off at the moment...

A month from today for mine. The wait is seriously killing me. Audi's flip flopping on delivery dates (it was supposed to show up in november, then late september, now back to middle of october) isn't helping.

Basically they are like this:
Daytona: medium gray
Quartz: medium gray
Meteor: dark gray
Not sure why Quarzt and Daytona both exist, they differences are truly subtle.

Meteor Gray looks like Dolphin Gray, from those pictures. That's a very good thing... since I love the colour of my Dolphin Gray. If I get a B8 S4, I will def be getting Meteor Gray!

I was flip flopping between meteor and quartz for weeks and finally went for the quartz even though I had never seen one in person. I loved the meteor grey on the lot but one day I saw it and the weather was kind of overcast and it just looked a bit dull and more blueish. Not to the point that it bothered me in any shape or form, but I noticed it nonetheless.

To be honest, I'd really love to see EVERY colour in person to make a 100% confident decision. I know I'll never get what I'm asking for, but seriously, it's tough when doing it on their websites, since the colours are ALWAYS fake. Pictures are the closest thing, but even still...
Oh well, I can't afford an S4 at this point anyway. It's all dream talk. I may pick up a 2010/2011 in 2012, lol. I don't see why that wouldn't be close enough to affordable. I wish I wasn't poor.

Thanks for posting this 6spdwagon; Audi Henderson is where I bought my current ride, and those pics bring back some great memories. The first time I ever set foot in my A4 was when it was parked 3 feet in front of the S4 in your pics [:d]

Didn't they have the S4 brouchure at the dealership? I have one I can take a picture of, but it has all standard paint colors along with what interior colors you can get with that paint.

Daytona has ALOT more pearleffect then quartz and is a exclusive colour according to Audi Norway that costs alot more.

Yes, it's an exclusive color, the times I saw it was not in good lighting, and I couldn't really see much difference. That said, I have seen the Suzuka Gray that Valis got in full sun, and it's notably different than any othe color.

Not really the most accurate description.
Daytona: complex depth and pearl charcoal type gray (my fav!)
Quartz: a medium and 'neutral' gray
Meteor: has a sea foam green/blue type of hue that comes out in certain light

Agree with switchface - i spent a lot of time looking at quartz but decided to spend the extra money for my favorite audi color Daytona Grey - posted some pics of an RS4 Avant and sedan as well as a TTRS in Daytona - Enjoy!

yeah I havent been home in years I dont miss the winters; but this midwest weather can suck too we got 5 inches of snow last weekend but it melted in a day..enjoy that S4 I would like to trade next year for one!
