Hello from Greece,

I am a proud owner of a A4 B7 1.8T.The car has the standard stereo system, Concert with cd player.A friend of mine gave me an OEM cd changer for 6 cd's. The problem is that my storage compartment in the glove box has no place for installing it. A technician told me that I need to by the complete inner shelf from the spare parts department, since this one has the hollow for installing the cd changer. The problem is this part costs about 280 dollars approximately. Someone told me that if I buy the harness for Audi R8 cd changer will be a perfect fit since this one is very long (I want to mount the cd changer inside the trunk of the car). Is it correct? I need your assistance.Thank you in advance.

I haven't heard about the R8 adapter harness. But I've done the glove-box retrofit. Just picked up the glovebox with provisions for the cd changer (I still need the different metal bracket that sits above) and the changer fits like a glove. [up]

the issue here is that I don't like to give any money to buy the retrofit glove box with hollow for the cd changer. That is why I don't have any problem about putting the 'changer inside the trunk.
