First, does the car sit lower with adaptive suspension (drive select) than ones without. Can we see some pictures?
Second, is the suspension more harsher without it?
Third, you think it is ok to lower drive select cars just using springs?

I don't think it sits lower, only the dampers firm up. I might be wrong though.
The car won't actually change in ride height. If it does, I haven't noticed any difference. Maybe if you took a measuring tape to it...
In general terms though, the standard suspension = "automatic" mode in drive select, at least in terms of ride quality. (Since the automatic setting does adapt to driving style, this becomes moot when aggressive driving is introduced to the scenario)
As far as lowering with springs goes: you should be ok. Since you're just changing the ride height and not the shocks, it shouldn't change the ride. Unless you go with stiffer springs.
