Not exactly sure what I will need to install it, i've done a bit of research and found this list of parts that i'll need, but just want to check if everything is correct on the list?

1. Aftermarket Head unit with matching GPS, iPod, Bluetooth, XM/Sirius/HD Radio, adapters.
2. Metra 70-1787 wiring harness (for BOSE and non-BOSE)
3. Metra 99-9102 dash kit
4. Head unit Mounting bracket. (Pioneer ADT-VA133 kit or similar)
5. Metra 40vw53 antenna adapter (if you have an amplified antenna)
6. 4 Audi/VW Stereo removal keys
7. Trim Ring. (Supplied with Head unit or Mounting Kit.)

The Metra dash kit will have to get cut to remove the plastic support in the middle right? Is the head unit mounting bracket necessary? and how do I know if my antenna is amplified or not?

Thanks for any help.

Just touching base... not sure if you got your answer already.

Couple points:

1) Metra dash kit - Yes you need to cut plastic support in middle for a double-din HU. (I decided on Scorche dash kit.)
2) Metra dash kit should have HU bracket (Scorche did).
3) Amplified antenna: I checked my stock Symphony HU before I removed it. The center pin provided 12v to the antenna.

I posted the details of my AVIC install on avic411.com.

Damn that list looks familiar. [;)]

Yeah that's everything you need. Doesn't hurt to have some spare wire and electrical connectors on hand either.

Yes you cut the center bar on the metra dash kit. The mounting bracket/cage is necessary. The metra dash kit openning is about 1/4in larger all around than a double din unit..which means to secure the unit you have to have a bracket/cage that you can mount to the car. The trim ring covers this 1/4 in gap. I think all B6s have amplified antennas, since the antenna is built into the rear glass rather than being a normal antenna.
