I want to install a fiberglass sub enclosure in the back of my 2006 Avant. I know people install them in the left side of the trunk, but I have some questions.

When I open the door on the left side of the trunk, I see a large black plastic box, what is in there? anything? can it be removed? (all my Bose crap is on the right side of the trunk). Do you cut the carpet from behind the door?, it looks like it would be in the way of any enclosure I want to put in there. I want to be able to fit a single 10" back there that needs 0.5cf of space, is that room big enough?

Thanks.

When I open the door on the left side of the trunk, I see a large black plastic box, what is in there? anything? if you have a cd changer or phatbox, it will be in there, but you'll see it right away. If you have XM or Sirius, the module will be right on top of that box can it be removed? the box can be removed, the components can be relocated towards the front of the wheel well (all my Bose crap is on the right side of the trunk). Do you cut the carpet from behind the door? I took my door off, some leave it there, some cut a hole in the door and make a grille. All depends on your style, it looks like it would be in the way of any enclosure I want to put in there. I want to be able to fit a single 10" back there that needs 0.5cf of space, is that room big enough? 0.5'^3 is very attainable. I have around 1cu ft and a single 12" and that was using every last bit of space behind there.

Thanks.

Thank you, I have neither a Phatbox or a CD Changer, so that rules that out, and sounds like it is easy enough to move the XM/Sirius box out of the way. I think I will just remove the door, don't know that I like the idea of cutting it!

Thanks again.
