I want to upgrade the system of my car, nothing mind blowing loud.I want a audiophile sound quality rather than thumping base. Can someone list the size of speakers I need plus a decent amp.I also need a site where I can order everything online.Im going to be still using the stock headunit.

very ambiguous... find a shop and work with them to come up with a setup that works for you, and your wallet.

stock speakers are 6.5" all around

do yourself a favor. upgrade the headunit. you wont regret it. otherwise if you just hook up and amp and some subs its just going to sound like poopy. IMO. As always i recommend JL audio for speakers and amps. Just because ive never had any problems with them and they sound amazing

upgrade the headunit first.

No offence to the JL Audio or Alpine posts above, but if you want to try for audiophile sound quality in your car they are probably not your best choice.

Check out brands like Focal, Hertz, Rainbow etc.

Check out Audison for amplifers - they make phenomenal amps.

Be prepared to spend $1k plus for a pair of speakers if you want the higher end stuff. Cheap and audiophile are very much mutually exclusive.

I think the mounting depth could be a problem on these cars when it comes to door speakers.

Dynamat or another sound-deadening material in the doors will make a big difference too.

Everyone has thier own taste and i know that there is a lot of JL haters out there. I stand behind JL 100%

Price is only determined by the amount of people you know[;)]

I don't hate JL in the least, they make fantastic subs and amps, and their speakers are decent to say the least.

But of all the speakers I demo'd before building my last system, their full range speakers just don't stack up to the high-end stuff.

If you are willing to buy stolen stuff then of course your ish will be cheap. I will not buy anything car audio without a receipt strictly as a matter of principle. And I typically stick to new. Why keep the douches who break into cars in business?

holy narrow-minded nancy!!! I love that you think everything on ebay is stolen...That means everything I've sold on there for the past 10 years is stolen too right? Way to be a pessimist [down]

no buddy you have it all wrong lol. my roomate works for a JL and Kenwood distributor. I get everything basically at cost. I have teh JL Audio 450/4 in chrome thats 1/800 made and i also have 1000/1 in chrome which is also 1/800made. They only made them for a year because of some problem JL had with the chroming process. Also a JL 13W7 in a ported box that barely fit in the trunk. I have all reciepts for everytihng.
