Im headed to Newport Beach and Costa Mesa this weekend, and was wondering if anyone had any hook ups or any ideas where to party or maybe even any good local bars?

Thanks in advance !

if you want to get belligerent hit up downtown Newport pier area (lots of bars right by the beach) .. like Sharkiez, blue beet.. maybe 10 spots or more with lotsa people

I can always get people in to Shark Club in costa mesa (by south coast plaza) on Saturday nights free of charge. it is a cool spot.. top 40ish and some house all night, huge dance floors.. usually get about 500-700 heads and up to 1,200 on bigger nights.

Triangle Square is also a cool place to party (kinda) there you have Chronic Cantina which is like a restaurant/sports bar with a dance floor... it can be fun/laid back.. whatever you want to make of it. Sutra is also right next door and is the most popular club in OC, or at least was a couple years ago. the YardHouse also in triangle square has a huge selection of beer... nice place to sit and eat/drink . there are also a couple hole in the wall joints right across the street that people always stumble to for a more laid back scene, but still want to drink plenty =)

inland Newport (by john wayne airport) also has some big name clubs like Ilounge and i think Code.. those are a little more upscale Vegas style , like Sutra

* check out memphis in costa mesa (right next to a place called the lab)
* detroit bar in costa mesa is cool too and it's off 19th street i think
* oc drop had some great suggestions as well

Depends on the crowd you're looking for.

1) Blue Beet (Pier area) is cool, as mentioned earlier--but sometimes has a $5 cover.
2) Newport Brew Co. (32nd street) is a casual crowd--closes up shop early.
3) Woody's (between 32nd and the Pier area, closer to the Pier)--fun crowd, no cover, might have lines after 9:45pm.

Some cool spots near CDM (Corona Del Mar, just south on PCH):
1) Landmark--just make sure you get there before 10pm, otherwise you'll be in line for who knows how long.
2) Crow Bar -- cool, a little older crowd tho (like early to late 30s).

I personally like going to Landmark. Hot chicks but tons of douchebags in white linen shirts and $200 jeans. Fun atmosphere nonetheless.

memphis and detroit bar are owned by the same group. they are more indie/electronic spots, which draws a cool crowd too.. not quite a vegas style crowd though . so it all depends what you're looking to get yourself in to

i'm willing to bet we will get some good sunshine in this weekend despite the forecast
