Hi, I have a the A4 with 220hk and 300nm and I'm going to tune it in a near future. I have read alot about diffrent stages and chip's but I'm still uncertain with what I should go with, therefore I need you help.

1) APR stage 2 chip, APR exhaust, snub mounts and Carbinio
2) APR stage 2 chip, custom exhaust with racecat, Carbinio, snub mounts
3) APR stege 2 chip, awe exhaust, Carbinio snub mounts
4) Another alternative..?

The reason that I like to go with APR chip is that they have (atleast what I have read) the highest torq of all the diffrent chip makers but maybe I'm wrong..?

What would you have picked and why?

Best Regards, Lars ps. live in sweden so my english maybe is not the best ds.

IMO...

GIAC X, AWE or STaSIS exhaust, VMR or EUROCODE test pipe, snub mount...

also AWE/Forge diverter valve if you dont already have one [race]

honestly the Carbonio intake is more for looks and the sound it makes, but EVOMS and AEM I have heard similar good things for less $$$ [up] also if you want to get a frontmount IC I would definitely recommend the GSG CAI...which will actually give you some gains.

you cant go wrong with APR though, the majority of guys on here run it, and love it[drive]

I have read a lot about the GIAC-X being a lot more smooth than the APR. But i do like the fact that you can chance settings with your cruise control with APR.

How many snub mounts do we have to buy? are they essentially just motor mounts. Im still confused with that. But, i heard from an audi mechanic that a snub mount with a short throw/smooth GIAC-X chip will realllly improve your driving.

I'm currently running the Carbonio intake, AWE exhaust, Forge DV, and Revo Stage 2 software. I'm currently experiencing some fuel cuts in the higher RPMS in 3rd and 4th gear. My tuner said he set the program pretty aggressive (Revo has adjustable settings) so that is probably my problem. So I either need to purchase the Revo select plus so I can adjust the settings, take it to my tuner and have him adjust it, or ideally, purchase an upgraded fuel pump.

I can guarantee that Revo can squeeze out the last ounce of performance a car has to offer. It just takes some logs.

Go for a HPFP upgrade from AWE. I think 1000 bucks for a whole new fuel pump is ridiculous and the 300 some that it costs to upgrade our stock one might be a decent deal.

Either way, if you are looking for more power i think the APR is the way to go. As for smoothness which will be my choice, the GIAC - X is my way to go. BTW, i think you would be happy with the Carbonio. People seem to talk badly about it, but it looks great, sounds great and actually does produce a bit of a gain. I will find the thread that proves that statement

I've had both APR and GIAC-X in my car and I will tell you that GIAC is much smoother in the power delivery and has the same amount, or maybe even more, torques than APR.

Thanks for all opinions! To make it even harder or easyier I can tell you what some tuners have for price here in sweden and what they claim to take out, HK and NM wise.

Tuner 1: Milltek exhaust with 200cells cat, upgraded fuelpump, panel filter, AWE IC and GIAC X.
They say it delivers around 280hk and 400NM and it cost as much as 55000skr, thats around 6200us dollar!!!

Tuner 2: APR stage 2 chip, mounts, APR exhaust, carbinio.
They say it delivers around 270hk and 430NM and it cost around 22000skr, thats 2500us dollars.

What do you think about the hk and torq numbers, seems to be accurate or..?
Based on the information above I think I will go with number 2, I mean for 6200dollars I get a BT kit!

6k is not worth it, the ATP BT is about 3k.

Only one snub mount. Its basically a really big bushing that cleans up the drivetrain slop (its mounted at the front of the car). And yeah, if you have a SSK it'll compliment that very well. And they're cheap (~$30)

Not to highjack this thread, but is there a difference between the different brands snub mounts? (APR, ECS etc.)
