Hmmm. Projected starting lineup:
PG) Gary Payton
SG) Kobe
SF) Caron Butler
PF) Lamar Odom
C) Brian Grant

Looks decent on paper, but I don't think its good enough to knock off the likes of the Spurs, T-wolves, Mavs, or the Kings.

I'm just curious to see if Kobe can live up to all the hype how "great" he is. All these MJ comparisons don't mean shiet unless he can carry a team to a championship himself, as the Man. We shall see...if you ask me, the Lakers have coem full curcle to the team of the mid-90s before Phil Jackson came. All kinds of talent, but not enough chemistry and experience to be on top.

Well, MJ didnt start winning until he had some coaching from Phil Jackson and some of the other players that Phil got, so its not like MJ did it all alone (IMO), you cant win a championship unless you have a good team. Im not taking anything away from MJ cause he is probably the best player you will ever see in the NBA. Its just that no one man can carry a team to the championship, including MJ.

Actually it is this statement that i do not agree with

So funny how people hate the Lakers so much. There are no other teams that get bashed that much. I guess that's what happens when your team is always owned by the Lakers.

these Kobe and Mj comparisons are getting to be very irritating. the only people comparing Kobe to MJ are the most ignorant people in the world, and those people are the MEDIA.

They always seem to think that Kobe is Jordan like. Only problem is, our memories of Jordan and impression of him is the man who won 6 rings and carried the Bulls and dominated the League. How old was he when he accomplished all of that...35 or so? cuz i know he didn't win his first ring till he was 28. I can remember the heat Jordan took when his team couldn't get past the Pistons in the 80s.

Kobe is only 25, and has accomplished so much already. I know he didn't accomplish everything on his own, because of the fact. He has not had the opportunity to play on his own, have hiw own team, have the benefit of having a team built around him and ran around him like how Jordan had it in Chicago.

I'm not saying that he will be like Jordan. No one probably will ever be like Jordan. but Now, its a start for Kobe to try to take on his own team and lead them to a championship. Right now, he can't do it with the players he has. With a better team, and a team ran around him and a whole different offense, one which will be focused through him and not a big man like Shaq, things will be different. Who knows what's gonna happen, but give the guy a chance to prove himself...GO KOBE!!![:D]
