Any help - or idea where to look -

Had the 3.0T issues on the cam position being out 7 deg on the drivers side.

Pull the parts out (dont wish this job on anyone) and replaced the cam sprockets and the tensioner and lined the timiening up and turned it over to test

re-assembled the drivers side back - now I have a no start condition

Reset on the VagCom and tried restart - Codes are 0386 and 12291

New Update - the exhaust cam is not "staying put" on the back of the passenger side where we replaced the tensioner

Bought a new gear and went thru the whole "take apart" again and turned it over - all good - start up .......

Exhaust cam went out of time again

What AM I MISSING??? the job is tough enough to do once - but Ill be doing the set up for the third time.....

Any recommendations??

JPJMIs the gear slipping on the cam? Or the chain is jumping?

There is another thread, I believe from a member in sweden. He was having problems with one cam jumping a tooth after tensioning. I don't recall what the solution was. You are following the full factory procedure with pre-tension on the other sprocket while tensioning, correct? What tensioner/guide assemblies did you use? INA/OEM?
