Whoa!?! Insurance?? No automobile insurance policy covers track events. Track policies cover liability and possibly personal injury. Wrecked cars are at the owner's expense. Gotta pay to play...or at least be prepared to pay.

Damn that was nuts. It looked like he broke a suspension component because the car sort of just shot to one side all of a sudden. Definitely more violent that regular old snap oversteer.

Guy is a shitty driver...Coulda called that crash from a mile away.

You have to be an idiot to let go of the wheel like that to come back to straight...And he's pretty jerky on the wheel...

Insurance will cover only if its a class or training setup like NASA's HPDE (High Performance Drivers Education). If its a class structured race then forget about it.

His lines looked good to me. Shakiness is gonna be common on the track no matter what car your in. This aint freeway cruisin. He came off a little wide and that stuff happens but to have your tire fold and rim clip and make the car flip is purely a freak accident. Must of had shitty tires with weak sidewalls is my guess.

My Avant doesent torque steer to much on a track but EVO's do. Even when your driving hard in the street, the torque steer really fights you. Im sure alot of it has to do with the power that thing puts down compared to my 3.0

most insurance companies these days won't cover anything if your vehicle is operating on a racing surface in a racing facility. it used to be that they wouldn't cover "timed" events (HPDE's are not timed of course) but over the last 2 years or so that has changed alot.

you can buy special event-only insurance from one or two specialty companies but the deductables are retarded. in the end, don't venture onto a racetrack with your car unless you can honestly say you can afford to wad it up into a ball if things go wrong.

He just did the *Exit turn, let go of wheel until straight, WHEE!* kinda thing.

My guess is the wheel got yanked right out of his hands.

And with jerkiness, I meant his inputs. Watch a few of his turn-ins...He goes shallow, over corrects with a hard throw. And on his track outs he just didn't seem to have the car under control.

His line was fine, but outside-inside-outside isn't too complicated Click here to enlarge
